BAPN Winter Meeting 2019 report

Over 70 delegates attended our annual conference in Manchester on January 17th and 18th. Thanks to all the Manchester team who kindly hosted us. Thanks especially to Rachel Lennon who organised the venue for free. She demitted as BAPN research secretary after giving a fantastic closing talk on the glomerular basement membrane and biology of the matrix. Thank you to Shuman Haq our treasurer who managed to deliver the conference at such exceptional value.

The session on clinical controversy in Nephrology Palliative Care was especially poignant and reflects the multi-dimensional challenges we face every day. The BAPN will be taking this area forward as there was willingness that some support structure between members and units would be useful.

For those who have a foot in the virtual world #BAPN19 made half a million impressions. Thanks to our communication officer Dean Wallace and all our influencers. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
