BAPN winter meeting

The first ever BAPN virtual winter meeting will be held on the afternoons of the 4th & 5th March, 2021.

This event will have features similar to our usual meeting, but with some added virtual extras. A draft programme for the meeting is available here.

Early Bird registration
We are in the process of preparing a delegate pack, that we will post out to all those who book their place on or before 14 February. Don’t delay – book today. You can register for this event here.

We also invite members to submit short presentations on:

a)  Innovations and Patient Safety: Send max 300 words summary on either on a case, case series or innovative practice you are doing to improve patient care and / or patient safety.

b)  Scientific abstracts:  send max 300 words structured abstract to present the results of a research study, either clinical or lab based.

c) Aspects relating to the themes in the programme section on “Supporting each other through the challenges of a digital age”: send max 300 words summary.

d) Any other area of interest to the BAPN membership: send max 300 words summary.

The top scoring abstracts will be invited for 8 + 2 min oral presentations, or for one minute flash abstracts. Prizes will be presented for top scoring talks given by trainees, medical students, nurses or allied health professional (below consultant, consultant nurse or consultant therapist grade).

Please note that we are not running the clinical ethics case discussion this year due to our time constraints. But if you have a difficult case that is currently challenging you, or your unit, then please send this in by the deadline so we can determine if a separate afternoon for a later meeting dealing with the current ethical challenges in paediatrics nephrology, is justified. We can then arrange an ethicist to participate in that panel discussion.

Please send ideas for talks or scientific abstracts to us by email.

Deadline for submission is Friday 19 February.
