Introducing David Silver – non-member trustee

We’re pleased to welcome David Silver to the trustee board as a non-member trustee. He brings extensive financial, strategic, legal and regulatory experience to The Renal Association.

David heads the European investment banking business of Baird, a US investment bank. He sits on the global management committee of Baird and leads a team of c. 80 people in Europe, having been a founder member of the European business.

David has worked at Baird for 22 years having previously qualified and practised as a lawyer in London. He has an MBA from London Business School. He provides mergers & acquisitions advice to private equity firms, entrepreneurs and corporates in his day to day work and is the most senior regulated professional at Baird in Europe.

David’s grandfather had dialysis for many years at home in the 1980s and 1990s and he has happy memories watching films and chatting with him during his treatment. He lost another grandfather to renal illness and his former boss at Baird is one of the longest surviving kidney donor recipients in the UK. David is very excited to work with his fellow trustees at The Renal Association to support the professional renal community in delivering the best possible kidney care and research in the UK.

David lives in London with his wife, Gaby, and their two sons, Guy (12) and Rafael (9). Gaby qualified as a doctor, and is now CEO of a healthcare services company.
