Kidney Research UK – April update

Current open funding calls with Kidney Research UK
Research Project and Innovation Grants 2019

Kidney Research UK has once again been chosen to partner with the National Institute for Health Research Academy, to offer jointly-funded Partnership Fellowships at Doctoral level, as part of the NIHR Fellowship programme. The Fellowships are open to any researcher in any profession, clinical and non-clinical, proposing research in line with NIHR’s overall remit and that of Kidney Research UK. With NIHR’s support Kidney Research UK will increase renal research capacity to fund more of the very best research into tackling kidney disease.
The NIHR-Kidney Research UK Fellowships application period runs from 2 April – 18 June 2019. For further information please visit our website, contact the Research Operations Team on 01733 367848 or 01733 367857 or email.

Fellows Day – 12-13 September 2019, at the University of Leicester
Registration open and call for abstracts

Our annual Fellows Day is a central event in the research calendar which brings together researchers, patients and members of the pharmaceutical industry. Over the two days a variety of topics associated with the kidney will be covered. It is a great opportunity to gain knowledge and forge new collaboration and connections to move science forwards and ultimately help patients.
We also encourage anyone who is a research associate or researcher employed on a project and innovation grant funded by Kidney Research UK, to take part in our abstract competition and consider presenting at the event as part of the programme. The deadline to submit an abstract is Thursday, 20 June 2019.  For criteria and details please contact Maggie Anderson.
Further details including a draft programme are available here.

Pint of Science Festival – all things kidney

In the UK some 40 cities will join this year’s festival. Our popular Kidney Research UK researchers feature in the #pint19 line-up in four cities – Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh and London from 20-22 May.
Further information on the topics and speakers is available here.
