New resources to improve access to home dialysis

NHS Kidney Care has launched a report and two short films, which feature kidney patients and their partners talking about their experiences of home dialysis. The resources are designed to help ensure people with end stage kidney disease are given more choice about their preferred place, and type, of dialysis, and were launched at the recent Home Dialysis Symposium in Manchester.

Primary care resource package helps GPs treat kidney patients

In a bid to help GPs diagnose and manage patients with early stage kidney disease, NHS Kidney Care has launched an early detection resource tailored for primary care. It features a key facts and figures report and a QOF CKD toolkit , and is designed to help GPs reduce the numbers of people whose declining kidney function goes unnoticed.

Dialysis Capacity Survey

Results from the first dialysis capacity survey are now available. Commissioned by NHS Kidney Care, the survey helps to determine what the current baseline capacity is, how many patients are receiving dialysis by modality within that capacity, what future plans are, and how these plans compare with future need. Data is currently being collected for the second survey.
