New how-to guide on timely listings launched

NHS Kidney Care has published a new ‘How-to’ guide, which highlights how ensuring timely referral for transplant can not only improve outcomes and quality of life for patients, but can also make better use of NHS resources.  The guide looks at a new referral pathway and clinic at Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust that ensures appropriate patients are able to receive kidney transplants as early as possible.

NHS Kidney Care launches new patient safety project around Acute Kidney Injury

NHS Kidney Care has launched an offer for acute trusts to work in collaboration with the national team in carrying out a proof of concept audit of outcomes and care pathways for Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).  This is an exciting opportunity for trusts to be at the forefront of work that will aim to improve service quality by providing consistent standards for all staff involved in the care of acutely ill patients.

Motivational Interviewing Study Days

NHS Kidney Care and NHS Liver Care are hosting a series of free study days on motivational Interviewing (MI) for healthcare professionals.  MI is a technique that can be used by healthcare professionals to discuss with patients any changes they want to make to improve their health and help manage their condition in a more effective manner. The skills taught on the day are especially useful during the limited time available in a clinic appointment.

Study days are planned in various locations throughout England – for more information and to register to attend please click here.
