Registration now open: European Specialty Examination in Nephrology (ESENeph) 2021

We are pleased to advise that the second diet of the European Specialty Examination in Nephrology (ESENeph) will run on 17 February 2021.

The examination will be delivered jointly in partnership with the UEMS Renal Section and Boards and the European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) the UK Renal Association and the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK.

In the UK, the examination is the General Medical Council (GMC) approved mandatory summative assessment of knowledge for trainees in Renal Medicine as part of the requirement for the award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and therefore entry onto the Specialist Register.

All renal medicine trainees have the opportunity to take this high-quality examination which ensures that certified specialists have sufficient knowledge of their specialty to practise safely and competently and provide high quality of care for patients.

The application period for the examination is open from 28 October 2020 for all candidates.

International registration closes on 25 November 2020 and UK registration closes on 23 December 2020.

The examination will take place on 17 February 2021.

This examination will be delivered via a computer-based testing platform at Pearson Vue centres, as normal.

However, we recognise that COVID-19 may impact some centres and this may lead to some candidates’ places being cancelled. If this is the case then we will explore options to run a contingency exam for those candidates affected at a later date. Details of this will follow in due course.
