Pandemic H1N1 2009 Influenza: Clinical Management Guidelines for Adults and Children

The Department of Health have prepared guidlines entitled ‘Pandemic H1N1 2009 Influenza: Clinical Management Guidelines for Adults and Children. In it’s introduction the DOH explain that the document serves as an update to provisional guidance provided in 2007 by the British Infection Society, British Thoracic Society and Health Protection Agency in collaboration with the Department of Health.

In it’s introduction the DOH explain that the document serves as an update to provisional guidance provided in 2007 by the British Infection Society, British Thoracic Society and Health Protection Agency in collaboration with the Department of Health.

Knowledge of pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza continues to increase and the majority of existing clinical guidance continues to be valid. The document has been produced in the light of clinical experience during the first wave and has been endorsed by the clinical sub-group of the Pandemic Influenza Clinical and Operational Advisory Group. It is issued together with an update on the clinical management of pregnant women with an influenza-like illness, severe influenza and complications.
