Professor Iain MacPhee appointed as International Committee Chair
Iain MacPhee has been appointed as the Chair of the International Committee.
Iain has experience in delivering postgraduate medical education in a number of settings including West Africa, India and the Gulf. Iain’s experience will add value to The Renal
Association’s aspiration to support the development of Nephrology in low and middle income countries, including through participation in ISN schemes.
The role of The Renal Association International Committee is to:
- Undertake programmes of work as directed by the Chair in response to a brief provided by the Education & Research Board. This work will include:
- Maintaining a record of the international involvement of Association members including the educational opportunities offered by Association members for nephrologists from overseas.
- Raising the international profile of UK nephrologists as educators and teachers.
- Maintaining close liaison with the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and ensuring the Association makes the most of the resources offered by ISN to support programmes in the UK for nephrologists from overseas including registering as Host Centres for the ISN Fellowship programme and establishing ISN Sister Renal Centres.
