Think Kidneys Programme Update: Person Centred Measurement
Renal units have been busy collecting the annual national Patient Reported Experience Measure (PREM) from patients across the UK throughout June and July. The registry team would like to thank renal unit staff at all levels for the dedication and hard work that has gone in to supporting the collection this year, and thank all the patients who have taken the time to complete the survey and share their views.
- The deadline to return the surveys to the UK Renal Registry is the 31st July 2018 – you can get in touch with Catherine Stannard to arrange a courier to collect them from your renal unit
- The survey is also available for renal patients to complete online in English, Welsh, Urdu and Gujarati at renalreg.org/prem
- Results from the PREM 2018 will be available to patients and renal unit staff in Winter this year
If you have implemented a local quality improvement initiative in response to the PREM 2017 results, we would love to hear about it. Get in touch with Catherine on the email above to share your story.
A new programme following on from the work of the Transforming Participation in Chronic Kidney Disease Programme and funded by NHS England, has begun in four renal units across England. This programme will be looking at embedding the routine collection of patient activation and patient reported outcomes within a low clearance setting, alongside testing an intervention to improve clinical support for patient activation. The programme aims to explore whether these measures can support a more personalised approach to care and improve patient outcomes. A report of the TP-CKD programme is being finalised and is due to be published later this year.
